Morgiana letterboxd. Apr 11, 2025 · House of Psychotic Women Rarities Collection: Volume 2 Director Juraj Herz turns a tale of enmity and jealousy between Edwardian-era sisters into a phenomenally haunting thriller with delirious visuals and an engrossing filmic language that elevates its familiar plot into psychological horror territory with its own unique aura. Starring: Iva Janžurová, Petr Čepek, Josef Abrhám. Morgiana. There are disturbed and surreal images all throughout the opening credits, setting the stage for something twisted yet to come. Morgiana (1972) is really good, it's from Czechoslvokia and gets pretty trippy in it's story of a woman who poisons her sister. The plot of a jealous sister poisoning her sibling sounds more like a thriller on the surface, but it's the tone and way this is shot that makes it a hypnotic and dread-inducing experience. When Klara becomes involved with a man that her sister loves, Viktoria begins to plot her murder. It’s nearly two hour runtime never slogs with each scene finding a unique and fantastical way to tell its bizarre story. Reviews of MorgianaA gothic tale full of madness, attempted murder, cat povs, trippy visuals and gambling soldiers.
